Solid Modelling
If your company is developing products using Solid modelling software, I can import your models into 3ds Max for lighting, texturing and animation. Models exported from solid modelling software are usually more detailed and accurate than if they were modelled any other way. It also significantly brings down the cost of the animation. Although most solid modelling software has some animation and 3D CAD rendering capability, there are some areas that require a dedicated animation package to realise all the potential of animation. By using 3ds Max and importing solid models using STL or other file transfer formats you then have the ability to show the product in its intended environment. It could also be composited against live video to really bring it to life.
Our 3D Animation Software
The software that I use for animation is 3D Studio MAX along with Combustion for compositing animation and video and creating special effects. In addition to the standard 3DS Max render engines I also use the V-Ray rendering system. As this is a high quality raydiosity renderer that bounces the light off the different objects in the scene to give a more real world look to the animation.
